Management Qualifications in Schools & Colleges
This is a national initiative in schools and colleges enabling students to achieve a recognised management and leadership qualification, either within or outside the regular curriculum.
As an Approved Centre of the Chartered Management Institute, our aim is to help managers and prospective managers improve their skill levels by gaining one of the Chartered Management Institute qualifications.
“This is a brilliant opportunity for students to look at how they go about managing themselves and others. It has undoubtedly helped our young people become better equipped to enter the work place whether at the end of sixth form or after university. Why would any school not want to run this programme?”
Simon Taylor, Headteacher - Kirkby College
We offer a range of qualifications at Level 2 and Level 3 which include short courses longer courses. Level 2 courses carry GCSE points and Level 3 courses carry QCA points. All of these lead to a recognised qualification, which can be achieved within as short a period as a week, by running sessions within the curriculum, or as an extra-curricular activity. These qualifications will give students a head start to their working life, or ongoing education, with a prestigious addition to their CV.
In practical terms, students will cover topics such as personal development, information and communication, developing good working relationships, using resources and planning work, coaching and feedback.
These are not only good business skills, but useful life skills that will help students to appreciate what it takes to be in a team, as well as to lead a team. The programmes can also be a natural companion for those working on a Business Studies course, and are often run as part of Enrichment programmes, or PSHE.
All courses are recognised under government guidelines and carry individual QAN codes.
